Featured alongside 2024 community partners, CodeHouse and BriKym Studios, the HBCU Game Jam was featured on ABC News Live as a pioneering event in diversifying the Game Development Industry.

ABOUT 2024

  • 120+ STUDENTS

    The 2024 Game Jam saw students from a wide range of majors and interests: from CS to Art to French. Whether you have considered a career in game creation or not, the HBCU Game Jam is an event for every HBCU student.

  • 6 HBCUs REPRESENTED

    The 2024 HBCU Game Jam saw student participants from all over the United States. As one of the few inter-school networking events since the Covid-19 Pandemic, the HBCU Game Jam was an opportunity for students to connect with their HBCU peers. All HBCUs are welcome at the HBCU Game Jam.

  • 24 VIDEO GAMES

    And approximately 50.8% of 2024 students participants had never made a video game before. The HBCU Game Jam is an opportunity for beginner students to learn the interdisciplinary process of game creation: the creative and the technical.
